Oh the Places You’ll Go!
As I looked at the destinations for my orders from yesterday, I noticed that half of them were going across the pond. Obviously my face masks are embarking on much more exciting journeys than I am at the moment!
Most orders from abroad are arriving via Etsy, a great place for artisans and makers to sell their products, where people are not afraid to pay a fair wage to somebody making a quality product. I am still giving masks away or selling them at cost, but I have to feed all these teenagers somehow too…
When lock down started I saw it as an opportunity to make things, I just never thought it would be face masks! My head is still so full of ideas, with no time to follow them through at the moment! Watch this space though….
One of the up sides of selling face masks is that I have met so many lovely people, in many parts of the world, where conversations often go on beyond the original purchase made by a customer. On yet another 15 hour day at the sewing machine this is often what has kept me going, so thank you for all your feedback, photos and chats!
It’s our 20th wedding anniversary next week and no face masks will be travelling anywhere from 25/08-01/09 as we are actually having a little trip ourselves to an (almost) desert island off the west coast, leaving the oldest in charge of house and menagerie. He is good at cutting but his sewing skills still need training up and he’s not in a position yet to keep the shop open. So, if you need any masks, get your orders in before then! Thank you for your understanding.
